Nicéphore Niépce" was born in 1675 in France as a middle class citizen. As a young man, he was interested in the science and technology of photography, and experimented frequently until 1813, when lithography was invented and swept through France. As a result of this, he created the first permanent photograph of nature sometime around 1826 and died in the year 1833 as the world's first sucessful photographer.
